Refugee Resource Group

The Refugee Resource Group was formed as a social justice ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Pennsylvania by its Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Audrey Cady Scanlan. The committee works to build relationships with refugee-based support groups and affiliated organizations, to assist refugee families resettling in our local communities, to educate people about our country’s immigration and naturalization process, and to inform people about refugee issues.

Earlier this year we released a three-part informative series by using PowerPoint slides and video-taped interviews to educate people about refugees and their needs. The series is available on our website and can be viewed by individuals or used as a program for Adult Forum discussions. The committee serves as a facilitator to acquire life-necessity and material donations from parishes throughout the diocese.

How Can You Help?

Having access to current legislative initiatives and news related articles about refugee/immigrant issues is desired, which has been provided by EMM.
We are always in need of brochures and handout items for distributing at our exhibit table when we appear at diocesan conventions and conferences.
On occasion, we may request to have expertise speakers appear at workshops/seminars focused on refugee issues.
