Love God, Love Neighbor: Advocacy in Action is a two-day interactive training that offers messaging practice, direct Congressional advocacy, and networking. Open to clergy and laity, this conference is designed for those interested in gaining advocacy tools and having an opportunity to directly advocate to members of Congress and their staff about protections for refugees.

Sponsored by the Office of Government Relations, in partnership with Episcopal Migration Ministries, “Love God, Love Neighbor: Advocacy in Action” will be held Thursday-Friday, June 27-28 in Washington, D.C. Attendees are also welcomed and encouraged to attend the 1 Journey Festival on June 29 at the National Cathedral and which The Episcopal Church is sponsoring.

The training will be held starting at 9am EST on Thursday, June 26th, on Capitol Hill (100 Maryland Ave NE Washington, D.C. 20002) and will conclude with visits with members of Congress and their staff on Friday, June 27th. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend the 1 Journey Festival on June 29th at the Washington National Cathedral.

Participants are responsible for paying for their own transportation, lodging, and any other food purchases or incidentals not included as part of the registration fee. A limited block of rooms is available at the Hyatt Capitol Hill at a group rate of $235/night. Booking instructions will be provided after registration is complete.

The registration fee is $75 per person and includes all training programming and materials, all scheduling for Congressional visits, snacks and a hearty lunch on Thursday, and snacks on Friday.
