Here’s another installment in our series spotlighting the dedicated affiliate staff who tirelessly work behind the scenes to support our mission to welcome. Staff are nominated by colleagues who wish to recognize their hard work and dedication.

Mukadesa Muftic has been working in refugee resettlement with Lutheran Social Services for over 25 years. As a refugee from Bosnia, she has utilized her own personal experiences to better help those in need. Here are some of the things that colleagues from the LSS-SW office in Tucson had to say:

“Mukadesa is extremely passionate about the work she does; refugee resettlement is not just a job for her but a part of her life. Her involvement in the community and outside work with refugees and people from other cultures helps her go above and beyond with respect to her ability to provide service to clients.”

“Mukadesa works from the heart and will always do what is best for clients and their families.”

“She is hardworking, passionate, and an excellent mentor to her colleagues.”

Thank you, Mukadesa, for all that you do both within and beyond the bounds of your role at LSS-SW. Your commitment to welcoming newcomers makes a huge difference!
